Stonewall Cymru Council roles

The Council is a skills based group working for equality of opportunity and fair tratement for Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual people; by helping to ensure Stonewall Cymru works effectively and efficiently.
Council members are not paid, but reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out their work are reimbursed.

Stonewall Cymru Council Community Safety Role

The Stonewall Cymru Council Community Safety role is primarily to support Stonewall Cymru staff to have a working knowledge of and make appropriate links with criminal justice agencies such as the Police, Victim Support, Criminal Prosecution Service, Community Safety Partnerships etc. and feed back issues into the council.
As a Council member an important part of the role is to support the staff in understanding criminal justice issues for the Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual communities in Wales and to support Council in raising awareness of Stonewall Cymru’s work, aims and goals.

Stonewall Cymru Council Fundraiser role

The Stonewall Cymru Council fundraiser’s role is primarily to increase the contributions of individuals and groups to Stonewall Cymru by supporting staff to build relationships and explore new fundraising opportunities. This role is to help staff to raise funds from various sources including community, corporate, legacy, major gifts, trusts, and events.
A major part of this role is building successful relationships with supporters, so the ability to network is crucial. As a Council member an important role is to support the staff in raising awareness of Stonewall Cymru’s work, aims and goals.
