New LGBT football club and inaugural AGM 12th July
Football is the most popular sport in the world, but despite this it can still be intimidating for LGBT people because of the homophobic attitudes prevalent in the game. Cardiff Dragons FC (www.cardiffdragonsfc.co.uk) aims to promote inclusion in the Beautiful Game amongst the LGBT community in Cardiff, South Wales and beyond.
Everyone is welcome to join or help out with CDFC. Players and non-players of all ages, abilities, genders and sexualities are very welcome to join; an interest in (or for some, a love of) football is the only pre-requisite. Although still at an early stage in our development, we plan to have an active social side so there will be as much emphasis on having fun and making new friends as there will be on playing football.
The inaugural AGM will be held on 12 July at 2:30pm in the Blackweir Tavern, North Road, to elect the first committee and ratify the Constitution. Cardiff Dragons will hold their first training session at 1pm the same day in Bute Park as an informal kick-about and they're planning an evening out socially in Cardiff that night to round off the day.

Sticks and Stones Project
"I am delighted to be helping the Sticks and Stones project," says Josh. "It was incredible the number of letters I received after Big Brother from young gay people who felt isolated and in a lot of cases bullied and harassed. Many were terrified to openly admit they were gay."
As well as Josh, other high profile gay celebrities will be getting involved over the coming weeks, so if you're up for taking part visit www.insitemag.net/sticks for more info.
Your anonymity is assured if you are not "out".
