The Conference took place on 31st March in Swansea and was attended by lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) people and representatives from the police, Crown Prosecution Service and Victim Support from across Wales.
It created the opportunity for lesbian, gay and bisexual people to hear what the criminal justice agencies do to address homophobic hate crime and offer suggestions of ways to increase confidence in reporting.
One Conference delegate described it as: “A great opportunity to learn more and to network with public bodies, like minded individuals, joining together to focus on a shared important issue from such diverse walks of life!”
Jenny Porter, Stonewall Cymru’s Community Liaison Officer, said “ It was an excellent day, and has produced a number of recommendations for next steps in developing partnerships and increasing confidence and reporting of homophobic hate crime.”
