Build Your Network
Develop a powerful and supportive network of LGBTQ+ leaders.
As LGBTQ+ leaders, we know the impact our identity has on our leadership.
We also often feel a drive to create more inclusive workplaces. Taking place 13-15 November 2024, at Ansty Hall, this programme provides you with a space to nurture your leadership development. It also creates opportunities to consider your power to transform the workplace around you.
Developed by and for LGBTQ+ leaders, the programme balances expertise and peer learning to support you and 39 other leaders from different organisations to develop together. You’ll also build a supportive network to continue to collaborate and share opportunities.
Applications for this year's programme have now closed. Check back next year to apply for 2025/26.
Well designed, brilliantly facilitated, great location, excellent content ... the best course I've ever been on in my professional career.
Delegate, 2023
Such a special three days ... and exceeded my expectations of what a leadership retreat should be.
Delegate, 2023
Who should attend?
This programme is open to both aspiring and existing LGBTQ+ leaders.
Leadership looks different in every organisation. Many of us are leaders in our network groups and not our day jobs, and some leadership positions can be inaccessible to LGBTQ+ people.
There’s no set level or type of leadership you have to achieve in order to access the programme.
- How does the programme work?
-
This six-month programme kicks off with a 2.5 day retreat, 13-15 November 2024, at the beautiful Ansty Hall in Coventry. We’ll leave behind the everyday of work to create a safe and supportive space to learn and share expertise.
After the retreat you’ll be invited to join three digital skillshares on topics chosen by the group. These interactive sessions, facilitated by Stonewall facilitators will take place between January and April.
The programme will round off with a reunion event in May to reflect and celebrate as a network of leaders.
- What does the agenda look like?
-
Learning set calls (Nov 2024)
Your learning set facilitator will give you a quick call to tell you more about the programme, answer any questions and understand your goals for the coming six months.
Retreat (13-15 Nov 2024)
Day one (PM only):
- Introductions, programme outline and contracting
- Informal dinner with Stonewall facilitators
Day two:
- Reflecting on your journey as a leader
- What drives your leadership, what does authentic leadership look like for you
- Understanding how identity, power and privilege shape us as leaders
- Reception and dinner as a group
Day three:
- What does it mean to be an inclusive leader, how does solidarity shape our leadership?
- Driving change at work, what can we learn from the wider movement and what can we contribute?
- Selecting skillshare themes
- Round up and goodbyes
Skillshares (Jan–April 2025)
The themes for three digital skillshares will be selected by the group. Stonewall’s content design team will then shape interactive two-hour workshops on the key topics you’d like to know more about.
Reunion (May 2025)
For the final part of the programme, we’ll come together again to reflect on what we’ve learnt and find collective solutions to remaining or new challenges. This will be a supportive and affirming space to share openly with one another and set the foundations for the continued development of the network.
We’ll also make time to celebrate together as we close off the programme.
